Category: Let's talk
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone here has ever attended the Statler Center in Buffalo, New York. I first read about the center in a magazine I receive, and i'm interested in maybe going there for job training. I'd love to hear about others' experiences with this place, so if you, or someone you know, has gone there, please share. Thanks.
Hi LeAnn. I don't know anyone who has attended, but they do have a website you can use to find out more about it. www.statlercenter.org.
Thanks Becky. I did go to the site and read about it. I would really like to talk with others who have gone there. I'd like to hear how their experience went, etc. I'm probably going to give the center a call as well.
Hello, its jess from orlando. I attended there 22nd class in Aug. of 2006. It is basically a 13 week program with the last 2 weeks devoted to an externship at an area hotel or det collection agency. I enjoyed it but since I am not good at math they found someone to work with me on that. You stay in a holiday in hopefully payed for by your commision for the blind in your own town. They should also pay for meal vouchers and there is a van that brings you to and from the hotel everyday. The statler center is actually hooked on to the Center For The Blind In Buffalo but is in the back converted out of an old house. It smells like old wood and reminds me of the mountains.
Thanks Jess. I sent an email to Statler, so hopefully they write me back.
This seems like an interesting place.
